What your training is missing

 “What type of training do you do?” is a question I hear pretty often from anyone trying to improve. I remember being in that position a couple of years ago, wondering what the right workouts were and picking peoples brains. Is it weight lifting? Cardio? Running? Court time? The Warm-Up

Activate the body and prevent injury before you step onto the court
Everybody has a different way of warming up. Some players like to get to the club early, run, bike, stretch, hit, and really loosen up. Others like to show up 10 minutes before a game, put their shoes on, hit the ball a few times, then use the first game as their warm-up. I can’t say that I haven’t been a in both of these situations, and I think most avid players will say the same thing. I strongly recommend that you get a good warm-up in before you play, I think everyone will tell you the same. (more…)

The Secret to being a Pro Athlete

One thing I have discovered in the couple of years I have
been on tour is that there is a major gap between amateurs and
professionals. This is not a shot at the amateurs, it is more of a
compliment to the professionals. I started out my professional career
in 2009, and thanks to my new coaches and trainers, I now have an
understanding of what it takes to be great.
